With over 15 years’ experience working with children and young people (aged 5-25), Kate Hands, is a PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia) clinically registered counsellor.

Possessing a Bachelor of Applied Social Science (Counselling), a Graduate Diploma in Adolescent Health & Wellbeing from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Certificate in Developmental Trauma, Kate has also completed numerous courses in mental health, suicide intervention, CBT, ACT, Single Session therapy, emotional regulation, child & adolescent development and Motivational Interviewing.

Kate is an accredited and experienced Step by Step Foster Care Assessor who is driven to support your organisations Home Based Care team by conducting assessments of prospective foster carers.

This service includes the preparation of written assessment reports with recommendations as appropriate and providing assessment reports to the Carer Review and Accreditation Panel.

Annual carer reviews and permenant care assessments are also available.

Secondary consults for professionals working with young people, including schools, case managers, justice workers, housing workers and other related care team roles. Safety planning also provided.
